When to refer
We accept referrals from GPs and specialists for adult patients with suspected:
- Obstructive sleep apnoea or hypoventilation
- Unexplained daytime sleepiness
- Nocturnal arrhythmia or cardiovascular disease with concern about sleep disordered breathing
- Parasomnias or complex sleep behaviours (typically for in-lab studies)
How to refer
Referrals can be sent via fax or with the patient. A simple letter stating the clinical question is sufficient, or you can use our referral template.
Reporting and communication
All studies are scored by experienced sleep scientists and reported by specialist sleep or respiratory physicians. Reports include:
- Summary of study type and technical adequacy
- Apnoea–hypopnoea indices and oxygenation parameters
- Sleep architecture and arousal indices
- Interpretation in clinical context
- Management recommendations and follow-up suggestions
Discussing complex cases
We welcome phone calls or secure messages to discuss results, complex comorbidities or the most appropriate testing pathway for your patient.
